The Kimberley & Top End
Tours
In the rugged Kimberley region of northwestern Australia, pioneers forged a living from an unforgiving land through rigorous and determined endeavour. Intrepid late 19th Century pastoralists, notably the Durack family, drove cattle all the way from Queensland on an epic two-year trek that established the first Kimberley stations.
The legacy continues today with modern day pioneers such as the Lacy family on Mt. Elizabeth Station, the Australian Wildlife Conservancy who are saving endangered wildlife species at Mornington Station, and of course the one million-acre El Questro Wilderness Park, a cattle station that has been turned into a world class wilderness retreat.
The Kimberley is a region full of natural wonders, like the World Heritage-listed Bungle Bungles, the magnificent wildlife haven of Windjana Gorge, the Ord River and the sublime Cable Beach, just to name a few. It's a place that people return to time and time again, either to see something different or to experience the whole lot again. It really is that special.
The Top End has its own uniqueness that has captivated travellers the world over for decades. River cruises across the wetlands of Kakadu National Park and through the gorges of the Katherine River reveal prolific birdlife fed by waters alive with fish and crocodile.
Whether it's just the Kimberley you want to visit, or the Top End as well, Outback Spirit has a range of itineraries that are sure to suit any traveller.
